Bug Beauty with FWAB

I am one of those people who is guilty of filling my pages to bursting capacity, but this time I thought I would challenge myself to keep it simple and make FWAB products be the hero in my layout rather than just an add on.

I have had these papers for at least 4yrs hidden away in my stash, but when I saw a recent photo my daughter had taken  I knew they were begging to be pulled out and used.

Only a little paint was added to the edge of this layout and the paper itself was used as embellishments, making the FWAB products pop right of the page.

Bumble Bee and flower chipboard from Memory Maze.

First I started with Lee's Tree adding some cut out flowers with olive green and pink pearls, I also added a little piece of grass bling to the bottom of the tree.

Using  Chloe's pearls in olive green across the center of the page.

A small piece of Jasmine's hot pink puffy swirl was added into a cluster of flowers featuring a white Maddison flower and a smaller pink Elise flower.

Today is my first official post as part of the new Memory Maze Design Team, the extra exciting part of it all is I've been appointed the Design Team Coordinator. 

"The one that didn't get away"

I guess everyone has at once heard the saying the one that got away, well not this time. My mum made this photo using my 2 youngest girls.

Once again Ive used a circle out of the circle frames pack, there are so many circles in the pack its great value for money. This time I have used texture paste on the circle and then inked it in distress ink and used it to frame my photo.

I have also used the Fishing boy chipboard, the base has also been texture pasted and inked in the same colour as the circle frame, the little boy has been ink black and then a metallic silver used distress stain used with a paint brush to add slight highlights to him along with his fishing rod that has been done in silver. each of the cats were done in picket fence distress stain then using a paint brush i have added black and brown distress stain to the edges. the little bucket was done in silver and lines drawn in black and a little wire handle added.

I added more wire to the little boys fishing rod to look like a fishing line. Using a climbing vine i cut it into 3 pieces and rearranged 2 of them to look like a tree, it has been inked in white distress stain and the leaves done in green distress in then everything has had black & brown added to the edges.

I used a chipboard chicken wire and texture paste to create raised areas on the background. And stitching around the outside edge of the background paper.

Lots of Prima Flowers to finish it off.

This week I was sent a parcel full of Stackums card making sheets, now I'm not really a card maker but these take the hard work out of creating beautiful card.

Simple cut each lot of pictures out and layer them with foam tape 

Vintage car Stackums

This card was used for my husbands birthday yesterday.

I started by layering each of the pieces then I white washed the entire stackum to give it more of a vintage feel. and inked the edge.

A Memory Maze cog was cut in half and inked then also white washed

I also white washed this stackum, I'm not a gold person so I wanted to tone down the gold elements

My wonderful 2yr old thought it would be a good idea to grab a piece of chipboard of my desk and start eating it, so to salvage this piece I cut it up into 3 smaller pieces, each piece has been white washed and lightly inked in pink

DT Projects for Green Tara

"Sweet Princess'

* Green Tara lace CODE: L2897OW used for the top of the page this has been lightly painted lime green with a glimmer mist rather than sprayed.

*Green Tara lace at bottom of page lightly sprayed in apricot and pink but some white has been left to give it a 3 tone affect.

* Green Tara Pink Organza Stripe ribbon for the large bow, wire in the edge of this ribbon makes it easy to shape, and best of all it keeps its shape.

* Green Tara Pleated ribbon in lime creates a border right across the page.

* Green Tara Organza rosttes ribbon cut to create indivual flowers in grey.

* Green Tara Silver spray dragonfly cut from its stem to create a small embellishment.

* Green Tara Gardenia flowers in pink with the green leaves removed.

Green Tara Swarovski crystal flowers in 2 sizes.

"Easter Card"

  * Basket made out of Green Tara ric rac and sprayed with glitter.

* Basket handle Green Tara Wave ribbon in pink.

* Green Tara petals folded into quarters and layered.

* Eggs made from paper and Green Tara Unryo 12x12 mulberry paper. Each egg has had the top half coated in mulberry paper using pva glue, the orange egg was done with white paper then sprayed orange to create the right colour.

* Green Tara metal corner small, painted in white gesso then lime green paint and sanded back.

*Green Tara Herringbone in Turquoise used to wrap the card and the large bow

Scooby doo loving girl

My 5yr daughter is Scooby mad and to make matters worse they only make Scooby boys clothes and toys, so she has been collecting the soft teddies. It was a little confronting to add flowers and ribbons to a somewhat Halloween page but overall I'm happy with the end result as is my daughter who carried the page around for a day lol.

String in black - To create the spiders web and spider.

Skeleton leaves in silver - I scrunched these up in my hands to give a warn look.

Gardenias in black - These have been sprayed with a silver glitter Glimmer Mist.

Natural Jute ribbon

Organza Splatter ribbon in blue - Due to having a wire edge it was easy to create a crease in the ribbon to give it a ruffled look.

Organza Stripe in black - Used to create the ribbon flower, pull the wire out of one side of the ribbon completely then with the remaining wire bend one end over so it can't pull thru. Start to pull on the other end of the wire while pushing the ribbon down the wire so that the ribbon begins to gather, once you have it completely gathered you can cut off the excess wire and bend the two ends of the wires together to create a rosette flower.

Green Tara

Well I must say I have been a little on the slack side for my friends at Green Tara but with the release of their new updated blog I thought I had better pull my finger out and help fill it. This week we were asked to complete a page, a card and a off the page item.

This time I set myself a goal to use as many Green Tara products as I could with very little of anything else, so with that in mind I created these. I only added a couple of rhinestones, cardstock and various inks.
